What to look for when buying a new home The obvious answer is LOCATION, but there is a little more to it then that. The following is a general list (not in any particular order) of things that might or should be considered when looking for Real Estate:

LOCATION
PRICE
SIZE OF LIVING SPACE
NUMBER OF BEDROOMS AND BATHROOMS
SIZE OF LOT
CONDTION OF HOUSE ie. (FURNACE/ROOF/SIDING/WINDOWS ETC.)
ZONING
QUALITY OF SCHOOLS
DISTANCE TO WORK
TYPE OF UTILITIES (PUBLIC OR PRIVATE)
NEIGHBORHOOD VS RURAL
POTENTIAL OR PAST USE OF ABUTTING PROPERTY
TAXES
POSSIBLE ASSOCIATION FEES AND RESTRICTIONS
POSSIBLE DEED RESTRICTIONS
ISSUES WITH HOME OWNERS INSURANCE
HOW LONG HAS THE CURRENT OWNER OWNED IT
HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN ON THE MARKET

The list can go on and on, but you get the general idea. The old saying is -the only dumb question about real estate is the one you did not ask. It is important to not assume things about a house but to investigate things you want to know.
