John has spent many years serving the greater Portland area. Born and raised in Portland, he specializes in Munjoy Hill, a unique neighborhood of period homes overlooking beautiful Casco Bay. I have been directly involved in real estate since 1999 when I started as a sales agent. Prior to that, my career was in safety and insurance. In that field, I worked on some of the largest buildings in the world like the Sears Tower in Chicago and the Empire State Building in New York. I did an appraisal of all U.S. Navy buildings in the United States for the fire insurance. A little closer to home, I did appraisals of all the municipal buildings in Maine including the town halls, fire departments, schools, public works etc. I also did the training and safety for these towns so I have a vast knowledge of the inner workings of Maine. I have been to most school districts to evaluate them and do training in them. I was also the Flotilla Commander for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in Saco. I know the local coastline and, as a boat owner, I know the lakes and streams you may want to retire on. I limit the number of customers that I work with, so there is always time for your special needs whether buying or selling. I work my listings with open houses, flyers, newspaper ads, real estate book ads and, or course, they are on the internet sites.
